Here is a delicious burger you won't want to put down, loaded with marinara sauce and cheese, your taste buds will be in love!
Let's Talk Chicken Parmesan:
Chicken parmesan is a very common and popular dish across the world, and is commonly referred to as chicken parmigiana! It is believed that chicken parmesan was brought to North America and other countries around the world in the early 20th century via Italian descendants.
Traditionally, chicken parmesan is prepared by baking or frying breaded chicken breast, covering it in tomato sauce, and topping it with mozzarella cheese.
Burger Time!
What's Needed:
Ground chicken
Could use other leaner proteins like turkey
Parmesan cheese
Italian seasonings
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Preferably fresh, but garlic powder will do
Onion
Preferably fresh, but onion powder will do
Milk
Could opt-out if desired
Bread crumbs
We used GF
Buns
We used GF
Spinach or basil
Mozerella cheese
Marinara sauce
Homemade or store-bought
How To's:
Because we are using a leaner protein for the burgers we want to keep as much moisture in the burgers as possible. To do this we use a splash of milk, you could also just use a little bit of the marinara sauce in the burgers as well.
If you are using fresh onion, we prefer to grate the onion so you are not biting into chunks of onion.
When breading the patties, you can use an egg wash "bath" before coating them with the bread crumbs. Totally optional, we opted out.
If you don't want to fuss with "breading" your burgers you can simply fold in the bread crumbs and all the parmesan cheese right to the burger mix.
