Hyped Up On Oats!
Bircher-Benner oats are also known as “Muesli!” This recipe was brought about by a Swiss physician named Maximilian Bircher-Benner for patients in his hospital during the 1900’s. He thought a diet rich in fruits and vegetables was essential for his patients. The recipe below is a more modern take on it and can be a filling breakfast when prepared the night before.
Grocery List
½ cup of porridge oats
½ cup of raisins
2 apples
½ cup of apple juice
½ cup of mixed nuts
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
½ cup of zero-fat greek yogurt
Instructions
Soak the oats and raisins in the apple juice overnight.
The next morning, grate the apples and mix them into the oats with the mixed nuts and ginger.
Pour the greek yogurt on top, serve, and enjoy!
